FLORENCE ONYIKE
Research Interest
My research interests encompass the transformative potential of remote sensing data synthesis and analysis in addressing pressing environmental challenges in the climate change era.
My research focuses on leveraging data analytics and data science methodologies to extract valuable insights from large datasets, thereby enhancing our understanding of climate change's effects and guiding policy choices. By analyzing hidden patterns and trends within these datasets, we can gain valuable insights into the contributing factors of climate change-related disasters, such as land subsidence
Projects
Currently, I am working with Dr. Shirzaei on a research project at Virginia Tech that examines the impact of successful implementation of managed aquifer recharge. Through this project, we aim to assess the effectiveness of MAR in addressing groundwater depletion and associated environmental challenges.
